These interrelated allegorical figures were created for a private garden near Bad Mergentheim, reflecting on the multifaceted relationship between humans and the environment. They address pressing themes such as climate change, weeds, harvest, and over-fertilization. The figures are designed as birdhouses, echoing the typical shapes and structures found in allotment gardens and garden sheds. Perched atop the poles of these “birdhouses,” contemporary characters engage in allegorical or symbolic activities. Certain details are site-specific, referencing the village’s street network or incorporating portraits of the clients themselves.


The figures were originally developed as a competition project for Bundesverband Deutscher Gartenfreunde e. V.
